We must remember that elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects.

I thought I would take a look at social programs such as WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, etc… I know this is a touchy subject, but it needs to be looked at. I’m not saying that I don’t care about people… I do, very much. What I am saying is that the federal government cannot afford to care. We are running at a deficit that makes Mt. Everest look like an ant hill. Here are a few ideas on how we fix things:
First we need to make sure assistance is only going to people who have run into some misfortune… not to people who just refuse to work. We should also limit this assitance and provide some career placement help.
Second we need to end most of the college grants… as a matter of fact, cut everything but Pell. These steps alone will decrease our deficit tremendously.
Third we need to stop allowing people to use food stamps to get cash. In my opinion, we need to put certain food items on a list and that would be all you can buy if you are on food stamps. Nothing makes me more angry than walking into a store and seeing someone buy beer and cigarettes with my hard earned money. Then they take a load of steaks and whatever other luxery items to their ten kids waiting on them in the brand new Escalade. I have another idea… If you drive a luxury car you should be made to sell it and use that money to support yourself.
Now for the nice part… With these cuts made we should also do what we can to subsidize reputable charities that help people in need.

If Ron Paul runs for president again, he won’t receive the same brush-off he experienced from the Republican establishment four years ago, his son said Saturday.

“Dr. Paul’s fundraising comes almost exclusively from individuals, not special interests,” LibertyPAC director Jesse Benton told POLITICO. “He received contributions from all 50 states, and his average gift this quarter was under $70, demonstrating his broad grassroots support.
